We welcome all people with disabilities and their allies to Virtual Ability’s twelfth annual International Disability Rights Affirmation Conference (IDRAC). This year the conference will be held on Friday, November 10. It will take place in the Sojourner Auditorium on Virtual Ability island in Second Life®.
This free professional conference is open to the public. In addition to the “live” virtual world platform, it will also be live streamed on YouTube. Presenters and panelists come from the UK, Belgium, Canada, and the US.
Virtual Ability, Inc.’s president, Alice Krueger (Gentle Heron in Second Life) explains “In previous IDRAC conferences, we've explored the history of disability rights, how well disability rights are being enabled across the world (or not), disability justice, ableism, and several other related topics.
“This year our conference team of Mook Wheeler, iSkye Silverweb and I decided to go in a slightly different direction. We chose the theme "Do, Create, Live." Our presenters will share what they can do, what they have created, and how they can live, when their human rights are respected.”
You can learn more about the presenters and their topics at the conference webpage: https://virtualability.org/idrac-2023/.
We hope to see you in Second Life this week.
