The advertisements for dietary supplements make them sound like miracle foods. Supplements can be useful to add to your regular diet if you are having trouble getting adequate nutrition. But they should never replace whole foods as your source of nourishment.
Healthy whole foods (not junk foods) provide better nutrition than supplements. A diet of varied whole foods contains necessary vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber, antioxidants and phytochemicals, all of which contribute to your good health. You can’t rely on supplements alone to supply your body with everything it needs.
